Unfortunately DD-WRT did not run much better for me, even Kong builds. Next big mistake was getting a r8000p hoping DD-WRT would soon do a build. Became apparent that Brainslayer did not have any interest. Since both Netgear and DD-WRT have issues with the r8000 it makes me wonder if the real problem is the drivers being provided by Broadcomm. DD-WRT is generic router firmware, where as the Kong version is specifically for the NetGear R7000 Note: Kong also creates DD-WRT firmwares for other routers, so the name “Kong” is by no way a guarantee that it’s for the NetGear R7000.
